Fawn Mckay

Fawn McKay was born 15 September 1915, in Ogden Utah. Reared in the Mormon Church's very first family, Fawn McKay devoted her creative writing talents as well as her remarkable expertise in researching to produce the incredible psycho-historical biographies of Joseph Smith, published in 1945. It was entitled:"No Man knows My History. The title comes from the funeral sermon of Joseph Smith, the founding father of The Church of Latter-Day Saints. He shocked his audience by proclaiming: "You don't even know my name. It's been a long time since you've seen my heart." My past is not known to anyone. There is no one who knows my past. The 29-year-old wrote Fawn at the time: Ever since that day of truth, at least three-score writers have taken up the gauntlet. Some have attacked him, some have praised him, a small number have tried their luck in the field of medical diagnosis. It's not the case that these documents lack it is rather that they are fiercely contradictory. The task of assembling these documents--of sifting first-hand account from third-hand and fabricated plagiarism, of putting Mormon and non-Mormon narratives into the kind of mosaic that can be considered to be credible the history. It is both exciting and informative. FawnBrodie accepted the challenge of a professional. Her work in research and writing brought her international fame: Thaddeus Stephens. Scourge Of The south (1959) The Devil Drives. Thomas Jefferson. The intimate Histories (1974) The Life of Sir Richard Burton (1974) and Richard Nixon.
