Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news outlet and a television host, author, and philanthropist. Originating from Greece she was able to move to England at the age of 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first ever foreign-born student to be elected president of the highly regarded debate group The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the position. Following graduation, she left her mark as a conservative syndicated columnist and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later she created an online voice portal which offered critical observations regarding the state of affairs. Her celebrity status helped her in getting several high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts on politics news and culture. Arianna gained fame when she made the decision to run as an independent candidate for the California recall election to replace the then governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna was also the leader of the Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient automobiles. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as the most influential women in media gaining 12th position in the listing and the following year Guardian named her to the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her president of the media group and also included several other AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Their parents are Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was an expert in management and a journalist. While she enjoyed a strong relationship with her mother and father and father, it was their relationship that helped shape her. She showed leadership traits throughout her childhood. As a 16-year-old the girl moved in the United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college she was a member of the Cambridge Union's colleges debating societies, where she eventually became its first foreign and female president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was awarded. She became a writer, a critic as well as a host on TV and a columnist after her graduation. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began writing her own books with his help.
