
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 - January 19th 2008) was an American film, theatre television, voice actress. Pleshette began her stage career, and was a part of films during the latter half of the 1950s. Later, she appeared in notable films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), or Spirited Away (192001). She also appeared in numerous television productions, mainly as guest actors, and played Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978. She received a number of Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1] and Eugene Pleshette, was born January 31, 1937 in Brooklyn Heights. The parents of the couple were Jewish and children of immigrants from Russia, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was stage manager for the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, and the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
